NSW: Police name officer killed

Police have released the name of an officer who was mowed down and killed this morning,
south-west of Sydney.

The highway patrolman, who was killed after laying road spikes to stop a car involved
in a high speed chase, was senior constable JIM AFFLECK of Campbelltown.

New South Wales Commissioner PETER RYAN says police are still searching for the two
men who were driving the four wheel drive.

He says everyone is in a state of shock -- and that police do know who is responsible
and he'd like to appeal to them to come forward.
